The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct has finally taken place and we now have a plethora of new information on the console that everyone has been waiting for. Read below to find out!

Magnet Connection

It was almost certain that the connection for the Joy-Cons onto the Switch 2 would be magnetic (We even have it in our original article) but now we have official confirmation on this fact. There will be a magnet inside the console at 2 places that will perfectly line up with the updated steel SL + SR buttons to easily and securely connect your controllers to your new console.

C Button + Game Chat

A completely new addition to the Joy-Con layout is the C Button. This button will bring up a Game Chat menu where you can create and join a voice/video call using the consoles built in mic and optional Nintendo Switch 2 Camera accessory. You will also be able to screenshare and talk to up to 3 of your friends while all playing separate games. The only issue I can see with this is if you are playing in docked mode, your microphone will be a lot closer to your television than you. Hopefully this is a situation Nintendo have planned for.

Optic Sensor.

Mouse control for the Switch 2 was another thing that everyone had predicted that came true. There will be an optical sensor in both Joy-Cons that can be used the same as a PC mouse as per the featured image. This will be used for easier menu navigation in games such as Civilizations VII and also in new games such as Nintendo’s own Drag x Drive.

Of course there will be things we’ve missed but these are the biggest Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Updates so far. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading and learned something new and as always keep your eye on TheGamerVine for more!
